Last year, Apple announced its smartwatch dubbed as simply, Watch, and not iWatch as predicted. After a no-show at the holiday season last year, the device is expected to hit store shelves in Spring. Now, Apple has never been a part of the CES ever, but looks like it will impact the show even without being there. Whether you like it or not, though the Watch is not yet available in the market, we may see its effects looming on the wearables launched at the CES 2015. To begin with, the Apple Watch sports a squarish design over the circular form factor that seemed to be a sudden hype after Motorola’s **Moto 360** . The Watch is crafted from custom alloys of polished or space black stainless steel (Apple Watch), space gray or silver anodized aluminum (Apple Watch Sport) and 18-karat rose or yellow gold (Apple Watch Edition). [caption id=“attachment_239754” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] The Moto 360 is one of the first smartwatch which released with a round face. It runs on a TI OMAP 3 processor coupled with a 512MB.[/caption] Going by the demo during its launch keynote, the Watch can do a lot of stuff. For starters, Apple Watch has pretty much all the key apps, Health, Fitness, Calls, Messaging, you can even send drawings on your Apple Watch screen to another users. For Health, the smartwatch has two main apps - the Activity App and the Workout App. The Activity app on Apple Watch provides a graphic of your daily activity, with three rings which show calories burnt, minutes of exercise done and how often a user takes a break from sitting. The Workout App lets users set goals as far as fitness and exercise is concerned and you can monitor your progress on your iPhone as well. Apple Watch uses the accelerometer, a built-in heart rate sensor, GPS and Wi-Fi from your iPhone for all of this. Here’s **all you need to know** . At the CES 2015, we may see a similar trend, of sorts. Stainless steel could become the flavor of the season. In fact, Dutch lifestyle designer, Hermen van den Burg, will be showcasing an all-stainless steel smartwatch, the BURG 27, at the CES this year. Health/sleep app, MediaTek processor, Android 4.4 and full Internet browsing, you’ll find it all. Now, Apple’s Watch appears to blend chic looks, fitness features and offer users with various options. There’s quite the possibility of a battle for the wrists as device makers will try to craft good-looking smartwatches instead of some of the chunkier ones we saw last year. Good looks could become a prima facia. We may see some stylish wrist watch makers enter the world of smartwatches this year. In fact, luxury watch brand TAG Heuer’s first smartwatch powered by Intel will be showcased at the CES 2015. [caption id=“attachment_233349” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] Apple Watch collection[/caption] Smartwatch makers may also tend to offer more choices with straps. Apple Watch that is a mix of smartwatch and fitness band, rather than a fitness strap or a standalone smartwatch. With more accurate sensors and heart rate monitors now being available at lower prices, the adoption rate may increase this year. There is also the possibility of our next-gen watches being on similar lines. Sony is known to be working on Core fitness tracker that it plans to embed in most of its devices, especially fitness bands. Along with typical fitness-tracking metrics, it will also function as a life journal. Samsung hasn’t disclosed anything, but we can expect it to add a device or two to its existing Galaxy as well as Gear lineup. HTC that is usually not making a lot of noise during CES will also showcase its HTC One smartwatch. At the CES 2015 this year, we expect smartwatches to be available a dime a dozen. Apple’s aim of the connected world, be it cars or home, hasn’t come unnoticed either. Apple is known to integrate its services and ensure compatibility with all its products. The best example would be Siri. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the wrist compatible with cars, whenever Apple plans to do so. In fact, Hyundai is believed to feature a smartwatch that integrates with a Genesis luxury sedan to unlock or start the car with a simple touch of a finger, at the CES 2015. All in all, this year the battle is taken to the wrists and Apple will be a major part of CES 2015, without even being there.
Whether you like it or not, though the Watch is not yet available in the market, we may see its effects looming on the wearables launched at the CES 2015.
