Cellphone Radiation May be Carcinogenic: WHO

The topic surrounding excessive usage of the mobile phone on a daily basis has never been one inviting pleasant glances. Researchers all over the world have at some point or the other stated that the radiation of extreme densities that a cellphone exudes harms the human body in more ways than one.

Use, but with care..

Use, but with care..

A recent report by WHO (World Health Organization) furthers this very fear. According to the latest report, cellphone radiation is indeed carcinogenic. The researchers put the electromagnetic waves released by a cellphone under test, and turns out that their results were a plain confirmation of their old fears. Excessive exposure to the radiation emitted from cellphones led to an added risk of glioma – a malignant form of cancer. 31 researchers from 14 different nations presented their research at WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) meet. It was at this meeting that they finally concluded that excessive cellphone usage indeed had a strong link to cancer.

However, the research presented has not met with acceptance from all quarters. A certain section of researchers claims that the radiation emitted by cellphones was ‘too weak’ to produce cancer cells in the brain.
