Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India said, “India Inc prints about 15 crores documents annually and is expected to grow at rate of 15% YOY. The government and SME sector are the key growth drivers for this segment, the A4 Copier based MFDs is ideally suited to meet all the requirements of the Indian SMEs and Government segment. With this rapid growth Canon is focusing on Managed Document Services (MDS) as strategic value proposition to its customers and we are expecting 50% growth in this domain with revenue achievement of Rs. 75 crore in MDS for the year. Canon is poised to maintain its market leadership for 5th consecutive year in the copier based MFD segment. To commensurate this achievement, the global head of Canon OIP Business will be in India this September.” He further went on to mention that, “Document scanners are integral part of digitization and become the first step in this process. Document scanner market is expected to grow by approx. 11%. BFSI, Government & SME’s are key contributors to this growth, Canon likes to leverage this growth by adding more products and solutions in this space”. The imageRUNNER 1700 series offers high-performance printing with speeds between 30 and 50 pages-per-minute while producing first copies in approximately five seconds or less. The robust and compact design offers a maximum capacity of up to 2300 pages, meaning that busy workgroups can print longer without needing to refill the MFD.

The imageRUNNER series has been announced!

The imageRUNNER 1700 series has a simple and intuitive design, with an improved user interface, a large 5.7-inch touchscreen display, intuitive menu selection and an interface which can be adjusted so that users can operate the device from any position. Users can also print from and scan to USB memory sticks. The new imageRUNNER 1700 series is ideal for balanced deployment where compact, black-and-white models are required for specific areas of an office alongside larger, departmental and organisation-wide MFDs. The new compact A4 series is also compatible with Canon’s eMaintenance and iWMC (iW Management Console), granting service providers and administrators easy access to real-time device performance information to maximise uptime and reduce the cost of ownership.

The new range of document scanners launched aims to combine flexibility with compact design and high image quality. The DR-M160 scanner is a compact and flexible document imaging solution with user-friendly design, high-quality image processing, reliable item handling, and intelligent software on board. The DR-M160 scanner provides the basis for efficient records management and paperwork reduction. With speed up to 60ppm / 120ipm (2-sided) it can scan A4 and Legal sizes as well. The DR-M160 comes with automatic colour detection that differentiates colour documents from black and white documents automatically. It also has a background smoothing function that reduces unevenness in scanned document data. Thus, it can produce high-quality 24-bit images in full colour at 60ppm via simple front panel operations, and the double feed detection and separation retry functions automatically corrects feed errors to maximize efficiency.

The DR-C125 Scanner’s USP is its space-saving design that makes it a must have in an office environment for improving information accessibility, management, and to modernize paper-based processes. Its high image quality combined with ease of use makes it ideal for converting and capturing paper-based documents to digital format, in corporate or remote offices use by individuals or small workgroups. Without obstructive tray extensions, it has a speed of 25ppm / 50ipm (2-sided) and can scan any size up to A4 at 25 sheets per minute. The DR-C125 is compact and small in footprint and requires no additional space for document ejection while scanning a variety of documents with the two available ejection paths: U-turn path and straight ejection path. This also enables it to scan thick document sheets, driver’s licenses and ID cards as well.

The P-215 is a compact portable scanner that supports high level of mobility. With its small form and weight less than 1 kg, it’s easy to be carried anywhere. This Canon scanner also comes with several advantages, such as “Capture OnTouch Lite” that allows users to scan results to a PC or laptop via the USB 3.0 cable. In addition, users also do not need to install any drivers to use this scanner. Pricing and availability for these devices hasn’t been mentioned as of now, but we’ll update you when they’re available so stay tuned to this space for more details.
