Canon India has launched three compact cameras in its IXUS series namely the IXUS 285HS, IXUS 180 and IXUS 175 priced at Rs 12,995, Rs 7,995 and Rs 6,995 respectively. Belonging to the entry level compact segment, the IXUS range is targetted at the first time digital camera user. With the new range of IXUS cameras, Canon is trying to woo customers looking for a good optical zoom range. The IXUS 285HS houses a 20.2MP CMOS sensor and supports 12x optical zoom. The camera has the DIGIC 4+ image processor. It sports a 3-inch LCD display on the rear side with 461k dots. The IXUS 285HS is capable of shooting full HD videos and supports Wi-fi and NFC for image transfer and remote shooting. The IXUS 180 offers 10x optical zoom range and houses a 20MP CCD sensor paired with DIGIC 4+ image processor. The camera is capable of shooting HD resolution videos at 25FPS. Just like the IXUS 285HS, the IXUS 180 also comes with Wi-fi and NFC connectivity. The entry level IXUS 175 comes with a 20MP CCD sensor along with DIGIC 4+ image processor. It offers 8x optical zoom and just like the IXUS 180, it can shoot HD resolution videos at 25FPS. All the three IXUS cameras support the Auto Zoom feature which automatically frames the image according to the number of subjects.
