Canon EOS 1200D is the company's new entry-level DSLR, starts at Rs 30,995

Canon announced the EOS 1200D, its latest entry-level DSLR, for the Indian buyer. The Canon EOS 1200D comes with the same 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 4 imaging processor seen on the older Canon EOS 600D.   The EOS 1200D will be available at a price of Rs 30,995 (MRP) for the body only. The MRP of the kit options would be as follows: EOS 1200D + 18-55 IS II lens for Rs 34,995 and EOS 1200D + 18-55 IS II & 55-250 IS II for Rs 39,995.   The Canon 1200D will have a 9-point AF system with the centre focus point being the cross-type. The 9-point AF system gives users more freedom to frame shots even when the subject is off-center and AI Servo AF helps predict where a moving subject is going, so the subject is always keeping it in focus.   The native ISO range goes from 100 to 6400 which is expandable to an equivalent ISO 12,800. It can shoot full HD movies at 30fps.   Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice President, Canon India, said “At Canon, we’re in the business of creating new trends. With the new EOS 1200D, we’ve actually created a product aimed at bringing brilliant image quality to a much wider audience, encouraging the masses to enjoy photography culture."   The design is similar to the EOS 1100D, but the 1200D is touted to have a better build quality. It has a 3-inch 460k dot LCD screen on the rear side as opposed to the 2.7-inch 230k dot LCD screen. It can shoot full HD video as well. It also includes Creative Filters for adding a certain look to your image. It also has features such as the Toy Camera mode, Fisheye mode, Miniature effect and so on.
