For all the amateur photographers who wish to take their hobby ahead, Canon has come up with a DSLR camera, which would help you do so. The Canon EOS 70D, which was recently unveiled, could provide you with the right mix of technology that would help in exploring the world in a better way through the view finder.
The new camera, which is expected to replace the three-year-old Canon EOS 60D, comes with an all-new Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor, which would improve the auto focus feature in the camera. The new sensor, with its all new architecture, will allow the camera to achieve faster and most precise continuous auto-focus in video recording and Live View mode. The company claims that the sensor will help auto-focusing at 5x speed when compared to the previous sensor.
Moreover, the new sensor along with a Digic 5+ processor will give a maximum continuous shooting rate of 7fps. The camera will also see an increase in its ISO, which could now be extended up to ISO 25600. However, the new Canon 70D features only three AF point selection mode, viz. Single point AF, Zone AF and 19-Point AF, as compared to Canon 7D, which comes with five AF point selection modes.
The camera is still to hit the Indian markets
The three different modes could be used to its optimum ability while clicking various landscape, portrait and macro images. The “Single point AF” mode will help you concentrate on a single point of the pictorial area, while the “Zone AF” mode will auto-focus on the selected zone or the area. On the other hand, the 19-Point AF, as the name suggests, will help focussing on any spot in the frame.
The company claims that the camera would be capable of shooting full HD videos at 24, 25 and 30fps, while videos could also be shot at 50 or 60fps with a resolution of 720p. Canon 70D will come with an internal mic capable of recording sound in stereo mode and will also have an input for the external mic.
Other features that this advanced amateur DSLR will include are HDR mode, built-in Wi-Fi facility and the JPEG-only Creative Filters mode. The new camera, which could take on the likes of Nikon and Fujifilm, is expected to hit the Indian market in few months.
