Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 information blowout

At the ongoing Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles, Activision unveiled a ton of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 information. The first and most important obviously being the gameplay trailer for MW3’s multiplayer included below. It’s not a radical departure from what we’re used to seeing but there are a ton of new features added in that should please fans of the franchise.

Next up was the announcement of a brand new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 themed elite Xbox360 console that we’re pretty sure won’t make it to Indian shores. As you can see it looks pretty badass proudly sporting its battle scars all over. This console comes bundled with a copy of Modern Warfare 3 and will set you back by $399 (Rs. 18,268).

And finally Activision came clean with their Call of Duty Elite service and listed out the benefits for paid members.

- A year’s worth of MW3 DLC
- Daily and weekly competitions and events with both physical and digital prizes
- Eight times the video sharing capacity (I’m assuming this means storage)
- Leveling up your clan, though you can start and join one as a free player
- Access to strategy and tips for maps, guns, and modes produced by expert CoD players
Elite TV: Web video episodes featuring the likes of Ridley and Tony Scott (producing a show pitting real-life rivals against each other in CoD) and Will Arnett and Jason Bateman (producing a show where celebrities talk smack over user-submitted videos)

For the rest of us who aren’t willing to shell out $50 (Rs. 2289) a year, you can still enjoy detailed stat tracking, the ability to form clans, watch yours as well as your friend’s best moments on the battlefield and lots more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC by the 8th of November 2011.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
