Activision has announced the release date for its next DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Dubbed Vengeance, the DLC will be hitting the Xbox 360 first on July 2. It will be released on other platforms—the PlayStation 3 and PC—around a week later. Vengeance takes players to four diverse locations around the globe, including a deserted tropical island, a destroyed suspension bridge, an abandoned paintball course, and the jungles of Myanmar.
The DLC also serves up a new addition to the game’s Zombies game mode with the new Buried map, where the undead residents of an abandoned subterranean Old West mining town have come back to reclaim their home.
The future of DLC is black
The other new maps in the Vengeance DLC pack are Cove, Detour, Rush and Uplink. In Cove, players play on a small forgotten island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The map mainly consists of a wreckage of a jet that crash-landed during a smuggling operation gone wrong. Detour takes place on a destroyed suspension bridge, high above an East Coast waterway, packed with scattered vehicles, exposed iron and collapsed pavement. The map has a focus on vertical fights as well as regular ones, thanks to its multiple levels. Rush has a focus on fast fights at close quarters. It is a paintball course that has been turned into a full-fledged combat arena. The last map in the pack, Uplink, is a re-imagined adaptation of the fan-favourite Summit map from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. Players fight in the rain-soaked jungles of Myanmar atop a hi-tech mountain facility.
The DLC is expected to be priced at $14.99 (Rs 880 approx), the same as the other DLCs that have been released for this game. It has also been included in the Season Pass for COD: Black Ops 2.
