Last week at Gamescom 2011, Sony announced a worldwide price cut for the PlayStation 3. We converted the UK price since that’s the pricing policy India adopts anyway and it came to around Rs. 16,224. Today I get a press release from Sony confirming that price drop for India as the PS3 is now available nationwide for Rs. 16,990, three thousand cheaper than what the MRP used to be.

Best time to buy a PS3
This price point I speak of is regarding the 160 GB version. The 320 GB version on the other hand will be bundled with the PlayStation move starter pack and will set you back by Rs. 19,990.
This price point actually comes at a really good time since PlayStation owners have a ton of exclusives to look forward to in the coming months like the God of War Origins HD collection, the ICO collection, Resistance 3 and of course, Uncharted 3. Plus there’s a huge backlog of exclusives to catch up as well so yeah, if you haven’t picked one up for yourself yet, now would be the perfect time.
Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
