BSNL announces new prepaid vouchers: Rs 249 will get you 28 GB data and Rs 429 to get you 90 GB data

BSNL became the latest operator to offer special vouchers worth Rs 249 and Rs 429 to lure users as we approach the festival season.

BSNL has come out with a new data plan to woo prepaid customers. The new plans are a result of the intensive telecom price wars that we have been seeing off late. The customer is definitely reaping the benefits as it gives one access to large data bandwidths as compared to say a couple of years ago. These offers are also in line with the approaching festive season.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has announced a special prepaid recharge coupon worth Rs 249 which comes with both voice and data benefits for users. The special recharge referred to as 'Promotional STV' by BSNL comes with unlimited local and STD calling, BSNL to BSNL voice calling along with 1 GB of data per day for 28 days — effectively giving you 28 GB data for that time frame. However, the voucher will be available only till 25 October, as stated on the state-run operators website.

BSNL also announced a recharge voucher worth Rs 429 for its users. This recharge voucher for prepaid customers will come with unlimited calling and 1 GB of data per day, lasting up to 90 days.

This promotional voucher by BSNL places it right into Reliance Jio territory who provide their users up to 1 GB of 4G data and unlimited voice calling for 84 days, at a marginally lower price of Rs 399.

Prime competitor Airtel also reportedly launched a promotional offer recently allowing its users 60 GB of free 4G data on downloading the Airtel TV app. This came after Airtel revamped prepaid pack offerings ranging from Rs 8 to up to Rs 399. The latest Rs 399 plan from the telecom operator also offers 1 GB of 4G data per day along with unlimited local and STD calls, though this will be available only to select customers.
