Wireless Enterprise Symposium Brother International Corporation and DynoPlex, Inc. announced the development of a Universal Printer Interface - Brother’s latest addition to its BlackBerry printing software - for the Brother MPrint MW-140BT mobile printer featuring Bluetooth wireless technology. The Universal Printer Interface provides the ability for independent software vendors and corporate IT departments to enable printing to Brother MPrint MW-140BT from BlackBerry applications. “Application developers need only install the Universal Printer Interface in order to be able to print from their application to the Brother MW-140BT. Installation is quick, easy, and saves the time of having to write a custom printer driver application,” said John Biancamano, Brother Product Manager. With the MPrint MW-140BT and a full suite of printing software development kits now to include the Universal Printer Interface, Brother is making it easier to deploy mobile printing solutions on BlackBerry devices. The MPrint MW-140BT features USB and Bluetooth interfaces. These ultra-portable mobile printers measure just 6.3" x 3.9" x 0.7", and weight less than 11 ounces! Included with each printer are a 50-sheet paper cassette and a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery capable of printing up to 100 pages on a single charge. The MW-140BT mobile printers use ThermaPlus M paper tailored specifically for mobile applications. It feels like plain paper, is easy to write on, allows the use of highlighters and reduces print fading.
