Bose launched three new soundbars today at an event in Mumbai. The flagship CineMate 130, the mid-range CineMate 120 and the compact CineMate 15. The three products are priced at Rs 1.31 lakhs, Rs 96,638 and Rs 50,513 respectively. The CineMate 130 and 120 are aimed at high-end users looking for a home-theatre experience and have TVs larger than 42-inch screen size. The CineMate 130 and CineMate 120 come with a wireless Acousticmass module for enhanced bass along with a control console which works with a universal IR remote control. The CineMate 15 on the other hand has a regular sized Acoustimass module and it also comes with an universal IR remote control. It houses six drivers along with two PhaseGuide sound radiators which helps give a surround sound effect despite the form factor being a soundbar. The CineMate 130 can be placed on a table or attached to the wall unit. It supports the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system which lets you adjust the sound based on the design of your room. In terms of input/outputs you get: 4 HDMI inputs, Coaxial audio input (digital), Optical audio input (digital), R-L audio input (analog) and 1 HDMI output (to TV). [caption id=“attachment_250062” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] Bose CineMate 120 is priced around Rs 96,000[/caption] CineMate 120 is a smaller version of the 130 and houses five drivers with two of them firing sideways. It lacks the PhaseGuide present on the 130. All other accessories are the same as the CineMate 130. The Acoustimass wireless module offers ample low frequency goodness. Since the Acoustimass module is wireless, you can place it anywhere within your room, the CineMate 130 and 120 both support up to 30 feet of signal range. It also supports the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system. Both the soundbars support optional SoundTouch wireless adapter which is sold separately. This allows you to wirelessly stream Internet radio as well as your music library over an existing home Wi-fi network, using an app. [caption id=“attachment_250064” align=“aligncenter” width=“600”] CineMate 15 is Bose’s ’entry-level’ model which is priced at Rs 50,500[/caption] CineMate 15 is targetted at users with a sub-42-inch TV screens and who are looking at a better sound performance than the regular TV speakers. It comprises a four-element speaker array which works with Bose TreuSpace signal processing. This soundbar cannot be wall mounted but is compact enough to be placed in front of your TV screen. It comes with analog as well as optical cable connectors. It comes with the universal IR remote control, which is the same as the CineMate 120 and 130. Demo experience Bose had arranged a demo session for the assembled media and played audio and video clips. In the Ice Age 3 trailer, the CineMate 130 and CineMate 120 are able to successfully provide that surround sound effect which you get with a 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel home theatre systems. Although, the CineMate 130 was more effective thanks to the Phase Guide system. The sound stage effect was more wider on the 130 than the 120. The sound quality on both the soundbars was impressive as well. The texture of the vocals and the instruments on the CineMate 120, 130 as well as the 15 was quite rich. Pricing definitely seems on the higher side, but Bose is targetting a niche market with these soundbars. We would have liked it if the SoundTouch wireless adapter module was bundled with the 120 and 130.
