Borderlands 2 To Be Announced Soon?

Borderlands was an awesome game. Fusing first person shooter and Role Playing mechanics, the game was a highly entertaining and well received RPS (Role Playing Shooter) so it’s no surprise developer Gearbox Software are working on a sequel. According to Eurogamer , work on the sequel is well underway and we should be hearing an official announcement real soon.

When they contacted Randy Pitchford, head honcho of Gearbox Software, here’s what he had to say, “I can tell you that myself and everyone at Gearbox LOVES Borderlands and we have been absolutely thrilled at the reception it’s gotten from our customers and the fact that it’s sold over four million units now. So you can see that we supported the game like mad with lots of great DLC and you can imagine that we’re going to want to do a lot of things with Borderlands in the future.”

My guess is Gearbox will probably announce the game at Gamescom 2011 that’s slated to take place this August in Cologne, Germany. It’s high time they redeem themselves from the debacle that was Duke Nukem Forever.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now. see more
