Bollywood video streaming service Spuul has hit it big. The service has inked a deal with Micromax to have its Android application come pre-loaded on the recently launched Canvas 4 smartphone.
The application will be joining a list of others like Hike, Fone Clay and Kingsoft Office Suite to come bundled with the much-awaited handset by Micromax. It isn’t clear if Micromax will be adding Spuul to more of its devices in the future, but Canvas 4 owners will get to enjoy Bollywood on their phones for now.
Deal inked with Micromax
Singapore-based Spuul has been helping Hindi movie buffs across the world access quality Bollywood content legally for a while now. The company launched its Android app only back in February this year. The application is free to download, but you can pay to access a limited, ad-free version for a premium subscription for $4.99 (Rs 275 approx.) a month.
Besides Bollywood movies, Spuul has turned into a destination to watch Indian TV shows as well. You can sift through movies and TV shows by genres and language to search and discover content. There is also a social connect with the app. You can choose to continue watching a movie on your phone where you left off on Facebook or iOS, making this application a smart one.
The app will find a lot of takers with the 5-inch, quad-core Micromax Canvas 4, which was launched yesterday. The flagship device is priced at Rs 17,999 and has a True HD IPS display with 720p resolution at 293 ppi. The dual-SIM phone comes with a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is all set to be available in the markets starting this weekend.
