One of the bigger names in the car audio biz is Blaupunkt and they have just launched a new player - The Hamburg MP68 - that puts you directly in touch with your friends or business partners via cell phone at the touch of a button.

The player keeps track of up to 500 phone book entries in addition to its Bluetooth interface for wireless connections and is equipped with a USB slot for external memory devices. The company has also developed a new intuitive user interface to assist with its functionality. The chrome-plated encoder with the circumferential rocker key symbolizes the Blaupunkt trademark with its “magic” blue eye and serves as the central operating element. A Bluetooth enabled cell phone, can be quickly and easily integrated into any vehicle equipped with a Hamburg MP68 car radio. (Compatibility list of mobile phones available at www.blaupunkt.co.in )

The most important basic functions of the telephone can be operated and controlled directly on the car radio – to accept or terminate a call. A convenient alphanumerical keypad – just like the one on the cell phone – makes dialing easy. All the calling lists can be used and edited on the fully graphical display. The Hamburg also includes an easy-to-install hands-free microphone. The voice of the person on the other end of the line can be heard over the car speakers.

The Hamburg MP68’s contemporary MP3 decoder technology, a wide range of connection options for all kinds of storage media and adjustable sound settings should make this quite a popular device for vehicle owners. The radio is able to pick up three wavebands (FM, MW, LW), and the player is equipped with an integrated power amplifier with 4 x 50 watts of maximum power and the sound can be individualized by adjusting the 3-band equalizer. Connections for external amplifiers and subwoofers can be used to generate additional sound pressure.

Thanks to VarioColour, the radio display allows to be perfectly adapted to the vehicle-specific instrument panel lighting. In addition, the Hamburg MP68 car radio can be connected to any MP3/WMA player via the integrated USB interface or Aux input. Even when a portable hard disk with a complete music collection is connected, individual songs can be found and selected quickly.

The Hamburg MP68 is available at Rs. 19,990.
