BlackBerry has slashed the prices of its handsets in India, with an entry level curve now costing Rs 8999.
The biggest price cut however is on the Torch 9860 which will be Rs 7000 cheaper at Rs 21,990, a 26 per cent cut from its current market price. The retail prices of the Curve 9380 and Curve 9360 have been reduced to Rs 16,990 and Rs 18,990 from Rs 20,990 and Rs 19,990 respectively.

Speaking to_ Business Today,Rim India managing director (MD) Sunil Dutt said,"_Be it our services or the product, we have seen a strong uptake by the youth and, therefore, to get the devices into more hands, we are cutting the prices." He added that the move would help RIM tap a wider base of the large market that India offers for smartphone company.
The reduction in prices comes after the Canadian company cut prices of its tablet PC PlayBook last December.
