BlackBerry Priv starts receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

BlackBerry has just released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its latest Android smartphone - the Priv. Users will need to check for the latest software updates on their Priv devices.

According to BlackBerry, the new Android M update on Priv will allow users to improve their mobile security by giving them new opportunities to monitor and control privacy with the DTEK app. The camera app is also expected to get some improvements with the new update.

“Priv by BlackBerry is the most secure Android device in the market and we continue to find ways to further enhance users’ security and privacy by adding new features with the Marshmallow operating system update,” ‎said John Chen, executive chairman and CEO, BlackBerry.

The new update also brings new features to the BlackBerry Keyboard with more emojis, new gesture typing mode, enhanced word prediction, better cursor control, among other things.

Also with the Doze mode of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Priv is expected to get a boost in the battery life. You can also shoot slow motion video at 30fps.
