BlackBerry drops handset prices for Indian enterprise customers

BlackBerry drops handset prices for Indian enterprise customers

Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry announced yesterday that it has slashed the prices of its latest handsets for existing enterprise customers. In a statement, the company has said that “BES10 (BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10) customers can now purchase BlackBerry Q10 smartphone at just Rs 39,990, BlackBerry Z10 smartphone at Rs 29,000 and BlackBerry Q5 smartphone at Rs 22,699.”

Retail customers can currently pick up the Q10 for Rs 44,900. The Z10 on the other hand, will set users back Rs 27,500, while the Q5 starts at Rs 23,500 on Flipkart. While the dropped Q10 prices is definitely good news, retail customers can actually pick up the Z10 for a lesser price via online retailers.

While talking about this, BlackBerry’s Managing Director for India, Sunil Lalvani said, “As part of our on-going festive season promotions, we are introducing an exclusive offer for our valued BES10 enterprise customers.” The three handsets that the company has included in the new offer were all part of the recent series of launches rolled out.

BlackBerry has dropped the prices of its handsets for Indian enterprise customers

A quick look at the specifications of the Q10 reveals that the handset comes with a 3.1-inch super AMOLED display with 720x720 pixel resolution and a relatively high pixel density of 328ppi. Internally, the device comes with a 1.5GHz OMAP 4470 dual-core processor and a PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Strapped in is an 8-megapixel camera as well as a 2-megapixel front shooter. It also comes with 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. Rounding up the offering is a 2100mAh battery. The Z10, on the other hand, comes with a 4.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1280x768 pixels. Internally, the device comes with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. Also packed in is an 8-megapixel AF camera as well as a 2-megapxiel front shooter. The device also comes with 16GB of internal memory, expandable up to 64GB via a microSD slot. The last device on the list, the BlackBerry Q5, comes with a 3.1-inch IPS LCD display, the same size and pixel resolution as the Q10. The handset comes with a dual-core Snapdragon chipset under the hood coupled with 2GB of RAM. The device comes with 8GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot. A 5-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter come as part of the optics offering. The device comes with a non removable 2100mAh battery.
