BlackBerry devices used to come in many different form factors, ranging from completely touch-based devices to keyboard-only handsets. With the migration to BlackBerry 10, the company has focused on pure touch-based and touch-keyboard hybrids so far. However, if leaked pictures spotted by ExpertReviews are true, the company may very well be diversifying its upcoming line-up.
The Z30, earlier known as the A10, will have a large 5-inch display
The leaked pictures show two new handsets, dubbed the BlackBerry Z30 and the Z15. Earlier codenamed the A10, the Z30 will have a large display measuring at 5-inches and a 720p panel. It will be powered by a Qualcomm SoC clocked at 1.7GHz. The dual-core setup will be based on the Krait architecture. Of course, we’ve known about this handset for quite some time through various leaks and rumours.
According to earlier reports, the A10 may have an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. Memory wise, the handset is equipped with 16GB of internal storage along with a hot-swappable microSD card slot, which can be used to shove in an extra 64GB. Connectivity options seem to include LTE with the standard Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS functionality. It will also have NFC and DLNA. Under the hood, the handset will run on a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and the graphics will be handled by a quad-core GPU.
The Z15 will have an old-school slider form factor
The Z15 will be a return to the older slide-based form factor. It will feature a full touch display that can be slid upwards to access a full QWERTY keyboard. Sadly enough, there haven’t been any revelations about the specifications of the Z15. As is the case with rumours, however, we recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt. The Z15 picture could simply be someone messing around in Photoshop and proclaiming it to be a leak.
