Bethesda Gets MMO-Dev Sister-Company

Developer Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media has just announced that they’re opening a new studio dedicated to their online games, called ZeniMax Online Studios. The company’s head will be none other than MMO veteran Matt Firor, one of the guys who founded EA’s Mythic Entertainment. When asked about this shift from EA to ZeniMax in an interview, this is what Firor had to say:

“At heart I’m a game developer, not an industry businessman, and ZeniMax has given me the chance to make great online games in an evironment that I feel comfortable in. They are setting up a new studio (ZeniMax Online Studios) in Hunt Valley, Maryland, and are doing everything that is needed to be able to create quality MMOs.”

No specifics have been revealed on the projects that they’re working on, or will start work on as of now. Let’s wish these guys heaps of luck and that they enjoy the success their sister company Bethesda’s enjoying.
