The removal of the 3.5mm audio jack on the new iPhones is still sinking in, but this has opened the gateway to accessory makers and alike. Now you will get a pair of lightning based headphones and also a lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter bundled with the iPhone. However, charging the smartphone while using the headphones won’t be possible. To solve this issue, Belkin has announced an adapter that will let you use lightning based headphones and charge the phone at the same time. The Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar adapter basically adds another lightning port for your iPhone, something like a splitter. Belkin says that it let’s users charge the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and at the same time use lightning headphones.
Highlights of Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar:
- Dual functionality so you can listen to Lightning Audio and charge at the same time
- Compatible with Lightning Audio headphones and Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter
- Supports pass-through charging up to 12W for iPhone and iPad
- Supports up to 48 kHz, 24-bit audio output
- Works with the Apple iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case and battery packs for on the go charging
The Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar adapter is priced at $39.99 (Rs 2660 approx) and will be available from Belkin.com and all Apple retail as well as online stores. That’s quite a lot of money for a splitter especially for something that will completely ruin the entire aesthetics and portability of a smartphone.
