Beats Electronics has now revamped its Studio headphones . The headphones first came in 2008, endorsed by American rapper Dr Dre. Back in the day, the Beats Studio headphones were the first to start the entire celebrity-endorsed portable-audio phenomena.

Now, Beats has addressed all the complaints that users had with the original version of the headphones. Coming with a modernised appearance, the new Studio is also lighter, weighing around 13 g lighter, and will also come with better padding and ergonomics to give more comfort and feel.

The new Studio headphones will also come with updated noise-cancellation technology, which will let the device automatically adjust the volume depending on the surroundings. This also means that the headphones will be able to intensify the noise cancellation feature for even more noise reduction when the cable isn’t plugged in.

That basically means that when you want to silence the noise of the world around you and don’t have a music player to plug into, you can snap the Beats headphones on to get excellent noise cancellation. The cable itself also features an in-line remote and mic port.

The new Studio headphones come with a Li-Ion battery, which should give 20 hours of music playback, according to the company. Another nifty feature that the headphones come with is a variable-colour LED display to indicate the amount of battery life left in the headphones, as well as an automatic power control to monitor the usage of the headphones and switch the battery off if there is no use. This is pretty cool if you forget to switch the headphone battery off, which is a strong possibility.

The company has also come up with a new Digital Signal Processor, codenamed Beats Acoustic Engine (BAE), which is looking at a good mix of “balance, accuracy and emotion,” according to the company.  Using the new DSP, the company has said that the headphones will leak out less sound to the surroundings. The new Studio headphones come with a price tag of $300 (Rs 17,700 approx) and will be available starting this August either in black, white or red avatars.
