We all know that Battlefield 4 will need quite a hefty system to run it in all of its high-resolution polygonal glory. The PC beta is taking this a step further. To run the Battlefield 4 beta on your PC, you will need to run on a 64-bit version of Windows, developer DICE stated on the official Battlefield blog. However, DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson has stated that the final release of the game will run on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
Troedsson has also outlined all of the things that DICE will be testing through the beta, which includes the anti-cheat system of choice. PunkBuster and FairFight will both be tested during the beta “to make the experience as good as possible for our players.” Players will be able to see messages in-game whenever a cheater is caught using one of the systems.
Battlefield 4’s beta can’t run on 32-bit systems
Earlier, EA COO Peter Moore had revealed that the Battlefield 4 beta on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC will start on October 1 for those who pre-ordered Battlefield 4, Medal of Honor: Warfighter and are premium members. Everyone else is set to get access to the beta a couple of days later on October 4. The beta will go on till October 15. After everything’s over and the dust has settled, we’ll see Battlefield 4 hitting store shelves on October 29. The beta will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Since it’ll be a beta, don’t be surprised if your super-awesome badass computer can’t handle the game. It’s very likely that the final optimisation of the game hasn’t been completed yet and developer DICE will finish it in time for the beta to end. Earlier, DICE had revealed the system requirements for running the PC version of Battlelfield 4.

- Processor: AMD Athlong X2 2.8 GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
- RAM: 4GB
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 3870 or Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT

- Hard Drive: 30GB
