Aviary updates iOS app to let users share directly on Instagram

Popular photo-editing application Aviary has served a fresh new update to its iOS application, and if you’re a user, you have a very good reason to upgrade.

The app, now in v2.4.0, finally allows its iOS users to post their masterpieces directly to Instagram. Once they’ve updated to the latest version, Aviary users will be able to spot the Instagram button on the Sharing screen. They can then proceed to sharing their images. The update is definitely an interesting one, since it’ll simplify the task for those who frequently share their photos on such sites. Also, this way users can get access to additional filters, thereby getting more room to play with their images.

The update also brings the exclusive “Jetset” filter pack for free when users share Aviary with five friends. In addition to those mentioned above, the app features improvements and fixes to some previously known bugs.

The Aviary app for iOS devices received a nifty update in May this year, which brought the much-loved feature Colour Splash from the Android app to Apple’s platform. Coinciding with the feature, Aviary also announced that it had passed 50 million monthly active users, a 100 percent growth in the past six months. The Colour Splash tool that is now available in the iOS version of Aviary will allow you to strip out colours from your images and make it black and white. You can then go on to use your finger as a paint brush to return the colour to only specific parts of the image.

There is a small magnifying tool available for you to zoom in and out of the image to finely return colour to the original image.

The Aviary app for iOS devices is up for grabs on the App store. The app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. To be able to use the app, users would require devices running iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimised for iPhone 5.
