AGEIA’s physics system for graphic cards has been met with a mixed point of view with Nvidia adapting the system to run fine along with its graphical systems. Rival ATI who had earlier said it would offer its own physics solution, it seems has decided to do more developmental work on its own version of physics accelerators. In a report filed by Dailytech this could take as much 9-12 months before its own product is ready. The RD700 chipset is reportedly already under testing. While this will annoy most ATI enthusiasts I am all for the delay. Currently there are no titles available barring a handful for the Ageia PPU and most new titles utilizing these PPU’s will not be available till next year. By then ATI will have a ready and mature solution available and shipping.
