Asus has announced the roll out of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for users in India. The update brings some new Google apps and plenty of improvements, and will be arriving to select smartphones in March including the recently launched Zenfone Zoom . That selection of smartphones for now only includes devices that were recently launched in India and mainly encompasses the ZenFone 2 series: ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML) ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML) ZenFone 2 Laser ( ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE601KL) ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL) ZenFone Max (ZC550KL) ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML) Asus has however warned users that the new firmware update will replace a few ZenUI apps. These would include the new Google Messenger, Calendar, and Gmail apps that will automatically be included with the Android M update. These apps will replace three ZenUI apps—ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar—as the default apps in the Android M version of ZenUI. This will take place only if you restore to factory settings after the update. Users who restore to factory settings after the update and find ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar missing, can download the same from Google Play Store. Those who own older ZenFone devices need not be worried about their 6.0 Marshmallow updates as the same will be available in by April 2016 onwards.
