Asus Zenfone 4 series announced in Taiwan with Qualcomm 835, 660 and 430 chipsets

The four Asus Zenfone models can basically be divided into two categories, the standard models and the Pro models.

Asus Zenfone 4 series announced in Taiwan with Qualcomm 835, 660 and 430 chipsets

Alongside the launch of the **Zenfone Zoom S** in India, Asus also announced its all-new Zenfone 4 series of smartphones at an event in Taiwan. [caption id=“attachment_3942887” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]Asus Zenfone 4 Series Asus Zenfone 4 Series[/caption] Four new smartphone models were announced as a part of the new lineup with the Zenfone 4 priced at $399 and the Zenfone 4 Pro priced at $599 internationally. Also announced were the new Zenfone 4 Selfie and the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro. Availability details for all the four models have yet to be announced. The four models can basically be divided into two categories, the standard models and the Pro models. The Pro models will include similar hardware with the addition of a high-end chipsets and a few other upgrades over the standard models. Starting off with the Zenfone 4 Selfie, it features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a Snapdragon 430 chipset coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The rear camera is a 16 MP unit with PDAF, while the selfie camera consists of a 20 MP wide-angle camera. The device is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. The ‘Pro’ tag gets the smartphone an upgrade to a Full HD display, a Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with 4 GB RAM. The selfie camera is the highlight here with a 24 MP DuoPixel camera and 12 MP dual camera set up. The 24 MP unit features an f/1.8 aperture that should deliver better selfies in low light. Everything else remains the same as the standard Selfie model. With the Zenfone 4 you get a 5.5-inch Super IPS LCD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 available in 4 GB/64 GB and 6 GB/ 64 GB memory and storage options. There’s a dual camera setup at the rear which consists of a 12 MP camera and an 8 MP wide-angle camera. An 8 MP camera is incharge of selfie duties. The device is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery. As you may have guessed, the smartphone is the new flagship from Asus and gets a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 inside coupled with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. [caption id=“attachment_3942897” align=“alignnone” width=“825”]Asus ZenFone 4 Pro Asus ZenFone 4 Pro[/caption] Once again, there is a dual camera set up at the rear with main 12 MP camera with OIS and Laser autofocus and a second camera with a 16 MP sensor with 2X optical zoom. The selfie camera is a 8 MP unit with a 87.4-degree field of view. You get the standard flagship connectivity options including the Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC and USB 2.0 with Type-C port and a front-facing fingerprint reader. There’s dual speakers as well. Completing the package is a 3,600 mAh battery. All devices announced are powered by Android Nougat 7.0 with Asus’ ZenUI 4.0.
