Asus is expected to unveil its new line of ZenFone smartphones on the 30th of May, a day before Computex 2016. The Taiwanese company has just released a teaser video, giving us a glimpse of the upcoming handsets. The video shows visualisations around the words ‘clarity’, ‘desire’ and ‘unlimited’ which could be Asus’ motto for the new smartphones. At the end of the video, three handsets are seen for a short period of time. According to sources, these are the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Max. The video perfectly aligns to the previously leaked pictures via product design website, Red Dot 21, which also hinted that there will be a design change including an aluminium casing, a fingerprint reader at the back and a USB type-C connector port.
There has also been a buzz about what chipset will be used as last year the company shipped handsets based on Intel Atom chipsets followed by a bunch of devices running on Qualcomm chipsets. For now we can only confirm that Intel will be a part of Asus’ new line-up as the banner for the upcoming launch event ‘**Zenvolution**’ features an Intel logo, which could either mean an Intel based smartphone or new ZenBooks. According to a report by Digitimes however, around 90 percent of the Zenfone 3 smartphones will be powered by a Qualcomm chipset and the remaining 10 percent will be run on MediaTek chipsets. Asus CEO Jerry Shen had made an officially statement a few days back that the company will release the Zenfone 3 in June, targeting the mid-range market segment with prices ranging from US $260 to $307 selling in about six countries. All will be revealed on the 30th of May and you can visit this link for the live stream of the event.
