Asus is gearing up for the launch of a new Padfone Infinity on September 17. To get the buzz going around the new smartphone-tablet combo, the company has released a teaser video. And the teaser, is short, just eight seconds long, and comes with the title ‘Asus Padfone – the Future’.
The video shows a rocket being launched with a countdown in tow. It also manages to pack in blink-and-miss appearances of both the tablet and the smartphone. The Padfone Infinity smartphone has already been seen quite a lot, courtesy a series of leaks and, of course, we know a bit about the Infinity lineup after Asus’s announcement at the Mobile World Congress. The smartphone will likely retain the 5-inch display of the earlier model. It will also have a full HD resolution on both the 10-inch tablet and smartphone. Here’s a quick look at the teaser video:
The new smartphone-tablet hybrid featured is likely to come running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, while the possibility of users getting a taste of the latest flavour of Android is still unclear. One can expect an expandable storage and a noise-cancelling microphone as well.
The Infinity will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 800 SoC, instead of Snapdragon 600 that was featured in the earlier model. Asus has already sent out invites for the event wherein it will be announcing the new Padfone Infinity in Taipei on September 17. The event is expected to be hosted by the company’s CEO Jerry Shen.
