Asus reveals all-new Zenfone Max in India, starting at Rs 9,999

Asus launched all-new Zenfone Max in India today through a live stream "LiveUnplugged" in India.


Asus launched its all-new Zenfone Max in India today through a live stream dubbed "LiveUnplugged" in India. The new Asus Zenfone Max comes with refreshed internals that now includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 32GB of internal storage. The new Asus Zenfone Max 2GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 9,999 while the 3GB RAM variant is for Rs 12,999 and can be purchased from Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart.

Asus has improved the offering from 2GB RAM in the older model to include both a 2GB and a 3GB variant that are now paired with an updated processor.  The internal storage is expandable and supports microSD cards of up to 64GB in capacity. On the list of features that remain unchanged, we have the 5.5-inch display HD display (1280x720 pixels), 5000mAh battery, 4G radios and support for OTG. The device can also be used to charge other devices like a power bank.

The front and rear cameras remain unchanged at 13MP and 5MP respectively, while the device now runs an updated ZenUI with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 as the base. The box includes an OTG cable and a USB charger providing 1 amp output making it a long wait for the phone to charge from 0 to 100 percent.

Battery life and standby time are both huge.

During the live stream, Asus announced the appointment of Sonakshi Sinha as the first ever brand ambassador in India. “I am honored to be associated with a brand that believes in strengthening the ambassador’s trust in them. My association with ASUS, second one since the Zen Festival in 2015, is in sync with today’s audiences that #LiveUnplugged, consume digital content and make decisions online. The launch for Zenfone Max involved me trying the smartphone and sharing my experience with the team at ASUS besides being a part of the digital campaign,” added Sinha on being asked about her association with Asus.
