Even as the Nexus 10 tablets are up for a refresh, new rumours have emerged that Asus could be building the new iteration of Google’s tablets. The reports emerge even as earlier rumours suggested that Samsung could be building the new Nexus 10.
A report by Geek.com has suggested that Asus, the company behind both the versions of Nexus 7 by Google, will be taken aboard to produce the larger version of the tablet. Clearly, Google partnering with Asus on the successful Nexus 7 range twice is an indicator that the Taiwanese manufacturer and the Internet giant share a healthy relationship.

New iteration by Asus?
This report comes as slightly odd since it was earlier assumed that Samsung would be manufacturing the Nexus 10 devices. The Wall Street Journal’s Amir Efrati had earlier quoted Android chief Sundar Pichai as saying that the new 10-inch Nexus 10 tablet was in the works and would be arriving soon. Efrati had also claimed that Samsung would be manufacturing the device . That seems to be proven untrue now and Efrati has even detracted his claim. It could be possible that Pichai was misquoted as several companies submit designs for upcoming Nexus devices before Google zeroes down on a manufacturer. It looks like Samsung could have been a part of this submission.
There is also a Best Buy listing for the tablet that has leaked, showing the tablet’s manufacturer as Asus. If this is true indeed, Google will be doing well by sticking to the winning Nexus 7 combination for the larger tablet as well

The Best Buy leak shows that the tablet will be manufactured by Asus
The original Nexus 10 came with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, which gave a pixel density of 300 ppi, a dual-core 1.7GHz Exynos 5250 processor, 2GB of RAM and a Mali-T604 GPU chipset. The new one is rumoured to be coming with the newer iteration of Android, version 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
