Asus has recently launched the VG23AH a 3D IPS LED monitor. This monitor is designed for those who are interested in viewing multimedia content as well as partaking in gaming as it features Asus’s All-in 3D technology.
The monitor features 3W in-built speakers, which allow a user to experience a cinematic 3D home theatre experience. Due to the wide-view angle IPS display, 80,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and the Splendid Video Intelligence Technology, this monitor can be used to view Full HD 1080p content. It features a range of connectivity options that allows for compatibility with a variety of media devices with the addition of dual HDMI 1.4 ports, single-link DVI, and D-sub input options. This monitor also comes with additional features such as swivel, tilt, and height adjustment capabilities. The monitor also comes with battery-free 3D glasses, which assist in the viewing experience while in 3D mode.

Asus All-in 3D technology features an exclusive hotkey that converts any 2D to 3D content easily while battery-free 3D glasses ensure a comfortable viewing experience,” said Vinay Shetty, Country Head, Component Business, Asus India, when commenting at the launch of this 3D IPS monitor.
The VG23AH features Film-type Patterned Retarder (FPR) 3D technology that transports users into a 3D virtual world. The technology used in FPR 3D monitors separate the 3D images that are delivered to the left and right eye at the same time to deliver flicker-free 3D visuals. The VG23AH comes with a pair of 3D glasses, along with additional 3D clip-on glasses.
The monitor has an easy set up because of the Asus All-in 3D technology, so even users lacking in the technical knowhow can easily access this 3D world via an exclusive hotkey, which allows users to convert any 2D to 3D content easily.
The VG23AH offers Full HD 1080p and its IPS panel provides a 178 degree wide-view angle on both vertical and horizontal planes, with less colour shift.
The Asus Smart Contrast Ratio provides lifelike images with an 80,000,000:1 contrast ratio which helps in giving users the darkest of blacks and the brightest of whites, a feature that is essential for a quality monitor. Asus claims that the Splendid Video Intelligence Technology helps the video performance and image fidelity by improving the colour, brightness, contrast, and sharpness of the monitor. Six preset video modes, which are Scenery, Theater, Game, Night View, sRGB and Standard can be selected via a hotkey.
The VG23AH features dual HDMI 1.4 output ports. These twin ports provide 3D Blu-ray support and allows for flexibility with the display being connected to both a game console and Blu-ray disc player and can be easily switched on/off when in use. In addition, it offers extra connectivity options by a single-link DVI and D-sub ports.
The Asus VG23AH is available in India for Rs 18,500 and is not inclusive of taxes.
