Asus has gone ahead and added a new Transformer Books to its line up at the IDF 2013. The Asus Transformer Book T100 revealed by the company is a 10.1-inch tablet that will be running the full Windows 8.1 operating system.
Most importantly, the Transformer Book T100 will feature the Intel Atom Bay Trail T Z3740 quad-core processor that will facilitate multi-tasking performance. Asus also promises energy efficiency with the processor that will help last the Transformer Book for 11 hours on battery power.
Use the T100 with the dock or as a tablet
The machine is a high-mobility notebook and tablet combination. It comes wit a detachable HD display that can be used as a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet too. The Transformer Book T100 features a 10.1-inch IPS multi-touch touchpad with wide 178-degree viewing angles and has a resolution of 1,366x768 pixels. Not much has been said about its GPU, but Asus says that it will be using Intel HD Graphics.
The tablet contains 2GB of RAM, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera and no back camera. There are ports available on the tablet for Micro-HDMI, Micro-USB, a microSD card and headphones. The keyboard contains a single USB 3.0 port too. The keyboard dock features precision engineered keys for comfortable typing too.
The T100 with Intel Atom Bay Trail processor and Windows 8.1
The Asus Transformer Book T300 is supposed to be a larger version of the T100 which has a detachable 13.3-inch Full HD IPS multi-touch display that can act as a standalone Windows 8 tablet. It will come powered by a 4th generation Intel Core processor and will have a battery life of eight hours.
The Asus Transformer Book T100 is all set to be available in October in the US with price tags of $349 for 32GB (Rs 22,040 approx) and $399 for 64GB (Rs 25,190 approx.). There is no word on international availability yet.
