Asus announces the A540 and R558 laptops with USB Type-C in India

Two new laptops have been announced by Asus, the A540 and the R558 both of which come with the new USB Type-C port as well as Sound Master and Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio technology. The Asus A540 comes in black and silver color options starting at Rs 20,990 and the Asus R558 comes in brown with black color options and with prices starting at Rs 43,990. The Asus R558 features a 15.6-inch full HD anti-glare display 4GB DDR4 memory expandable up to 8GB. It runs on an Intel Core i5-6200U 6th-generation processor, clocked at 2.3GHz coupled and 1TB SATA hard drive. It also features an NVIDIA GeForce 930MX GPU and a variety of ports including 1xUSB 2.0, 1xUSB 3.0 and 1xUSB Type-C, a headphone jack, VGA port, LAN port and an HDMI port. The A540 on the hand offers lower-end hardware with 15.6-inch 720p display, an Intel Core i3-4005U 4th-generation processor, Intel HD 4400 graphics, 4GB of DDR3 RAM expandable to 8GB and similar set of ports storage options as the R558.
