Asus has announced the A88X-Gamer motherboard in India. Priced at Rs 8,750, it will hit store shelves next month. It comes with the FM2+ socket and is aimed at gamers who are on the AMD platform.
The gaming motherboard comes equipped with the latest Intel Gigabit Ethernet networking, SupremeFX audio technology and Guardian components. It features Asus’s AI Suite III utility as well for overclocking, monitoring temperatures and voltages and so on. It can take in four RAM sticks with up to 64GB capacity. There are two PCIe x16 slots and two PCIe x1 slots and three PCI slots.
A88X-Gamer board comes with SupremeFX audio technology. The audio chipset is isolated from electromagnetic interference (EMI) by a protective shield and a ‘red-line shielding’ that horizontally separates SupremeFX audio components from the rest of the motherboard. SupremeFX also features a built-in amplifier to drive headphones.
On the networking front, the A88X-Gamer is powered by Intel Gigabit Ethernet, which Asus claims offers lower lag and faster response time while LAN gaming. It also has Gamer’s Guardian, which includes onboard resettable fuses protecting connection ports and DRAM against over-current and short-circuit damage. It also has Asus’s proprietary Digi+ voltage-regulator module (VRM) and a stainless-steel back input/output (I/O) panel that’s chromium-plated and corrosion-resistant.
It comes with two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI, D-Sub and DVI display ports along with an optical audio out. Backed by a three-year warranty, the A88X-Gamer will hit stores next week.
