Assembled parts show what the iPhone 5 will look like

Over the past few months, there have been numerous leaks and rumours regarding the upcoming smartphone from Apple, the iPhone 5. One of the highly anticipated features regarding this handset is expected to be the change in design. With the launch date of the next iPhone looming close, a report by 9to5Mac claims that there are many parts expected to feature in the handset leaking out to repair shops. With this being the case, iLab, a repair shop has taken the opportunity to assemble a handset giving the world a preview of what the iPhone 5 will look like once it is launched.

As per the report, 9to5Mac notes that iLab has assembled the external parts of what is believed to be featured on the upcoming iPhone and the repair shop has also snapped some images of what will feature in the internal casing of the handset. From the images, we can see that they have also got access to the locking ribbons for the screen, the volume buttons as well as the home button. The only thing missing from this assembled handset is that it does not feature a SIM tray slot.

The repair shop has assembled a black colored version of the handset but from the images we can also see that there is a white model that will also be available. Hopefully, both versions of the handset will be available once the handset hits the shelves.

This rear casing of this assembled handset looks strikingly similar to the leaked images that surfaced a while ago, so there could be a high possibility that this in fact may as well be what the next iPhone looks like.

As of now, there is no definite launch date available. A report had surfaced earlier this month, which stated that the iPhone 5 would be unveiled by August 7. However, there is no word on it since, and Apple has not sent out any media invites yet.

As for the display of the next iPhone, it is believed that Apple will incorporate a new technology called in-cell, which will help in making the handset a lot slimmer. This will help in negating the brand from using another touchscreen layer as with in-cell technology, the touch sensors are integrated into the LCD itself. By using a thinner display on their upcoming smartphone, Apple would also be able to make room for other components such as a larger battery, something which is quite essential for a smartphone these days. These latest images come as a further confirmation that Apple will increase the size of the display to 4 inches diagonally ,and will keep the width the same as previous generation iPhones. Apple will also raise the height of the screen, thereby giving it a resolution of 1136 x 640
