Steve Jobs is clearly not going to fade from public memory any time soon. After the Apple co-founder passed away almost two years ago, many Jobs-related movies have been popping up, with some in the process of production, while others are almost set for release.
As earlier reported, one of films, titled “ Jobs”, with Ashton Kutcher playing the titular role, has just released its first trailer earlier today. The film was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to mixed reviews earlier in the year. While the trailer looks good, the way the Punk’d star Kutcher tackles the characterisation of one of the world’s best known innovators will dictate how the film performs in the box office.

Although the film was originally scheduled for an April release, Jobs will hit screens worldwide on August 16, 2013. The trailer is the most comprehensive look at the movie yet, with many scenes being showed, despite a minute-long clip about the movie being released in January. The film will also star Josh Gad in the role of Steve Wozniak.
Some other Jobs-related films that were seen earlier in the year include a poorly received iSteve, a comedy film that was released by rumour site Funny or Die, which had Justin Long play the role of “Mac” in Apple’s long-running “Mac vs. PC” ad campaign.
A third film is currently being written by Aaron Sorkin, and is set to be the official adaptation of Jobs’ authorised biography by Walter Isaacson. The unique selling point of this film, which is currently in the early stages of development, will be the three 30-minute scenes that show Jobs backstage at some of the biggest launches in Apple’s history, including the launch of the original Mac, NeXT and the iPod. With these many “Jobs” in the pipeline, one may wonder if any of the video biographies will really be able to do justice in capturing the complexity of Steve Jobs.
