Ashton Kutcher named Lenovo's Product Engineer

Not too long after he portrayed Apple big boss Steve Jobs on the big screen, Ashton Kutcher has changed camps in real life. The Hollywood actor is now a Product Engineer for Chinese PC maker Lenovo.

The partnership was announced by Lenovo this week at the livestream launch of the new Yoga tablet by the manufacturer. The company said that Kutcher will be working with engineering teams across the world to develop and market the Yoga line of tablets by “providing input and decision-making into design, specifications, software and usage scenarios.”

Kutcher currently plays an Internet tycoon in TV series Two and a Half Men and will now exchange his actor status to be a techie in real life. We could even be looking at all his Apple gear in the series being replaced by Lenovos in the upcoming seasons of the show thanks to his new role as the Product Manager in the Chinese company.

Kutcher is not just another celebrity endorser, explains Lenovo. He has actively invested into tech startups over the years and is also a co-founder of Grade-A Investments. The company has provided venture capital to startups like Airbnb, Fab, Foursquare, Spotify, Path and Uber. You can have a look at what the actor brings to the table in the video below:

“This partnership with Lenovo brings together my love of technology and design that makes your life better. I can’t wait to dig in and help Lenovo develop future mobile computing products, starting with the Yoga Tablet,” Kutcher was quoted saying. The actor is not the first celebrity hired by a tech company to help it out. BlackBerry recently brought singer Alicia Keys on board and Polaroid has turned to Lady Gaga in the past .

Intrigued by all things social, Nishtha will invariably tweet about you. When not tweeting or writing about the next viral video, you will hear her proclaiming her love to Metallica, James Hetfield, Opeth, Akerfeldt and all bands that go 'growl'. She also obsesses about ACP Pradyuman and South Park and you will always find her moving around with a book. Her focus is on all the happening stuff in the tech domain, and she won't hesitate to take a shot at some of the oddball devices that make their way to our labs.
