Italian motorcycle maker Aprilia has launched its first ever scooter for the Indian market called the SR 150. The company had earlier announced the scooter back in July and today it plan to officially launch it in stores.
Owned by Piaggio, the company announced the scooter at an introductory price of Rs 65,000. The Aprilia SR 150 is powered by a 154.4cc engine with an automatic transmission that produces 11.4 BHP @ 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 11.4 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. You also get 220mm front disc brakes and 240mm rear drum brakes for the 14-inch tubeless tyres. The suspension system consists of telescopic forks at the front with spring aided shock-absorbers at the rear.
Other features include a USB charging port and integrated foldable pillion footrests. The SR 150 also comes with a pass-by switch which proves helpful in overtaking.
The main console feature a speedometer, a fuel gauge along with telltale lights. At the front are the twin headlamps while the turn indicators have been integrated on the front cowl.
Piaggio will be selling the new Aprilia SR 150 through existing Vespa outlets. The scooter can also be booked through Paytm by submitting an amount of Rs 2,000. Paytm is also offering a 100 percent cashback on the booking amount.
