AppSlider lets you place two apps in your iPhone's lock screen

iPhone users out there who use certain apps frequently and hate the amount of time, starting up the phone and getting to the apps takes, there’s an app that can help you. First of all, you should know this app is available from the Cydia store and not the App Store, so your phone has to be jailbroken. The application is called AppSlider and it basically allows you to choose two of your favourite apps and place them in your lock screen. So, if you’re an avid Camera+ user, you can place the application right in your lock screen and launch the app without unlocking your phone. This also solves the woes of iPhone users complaining that it takes forever to launch the camera function of the phone. If you have a password, however, you will only be able to launch the app after you’ve entered the correct sequence.

According to Redmond Pie , the way the application works is that it diminishes the area of the lock screen, placing the apps right on the slider. It’s the same way the camera icon gets placed on the unlock slider when you press the homescreen button twice fast when unlocking an iPhone running iOS 5. To choose which apps you would like to place in your lock screen, you need to go to your settings where there will be a dedicated entry for AppSlider. In the same area, you can also choose whether you would like to enable the tweak or not. AppSlider is available for free from the Big Boss Repository and requires iOS 5. It currently only supports the iPhone and iPod Touch. And of course, as mentioned earlier, your phone has to be jailbroken in order to get the app.

Paddy does not, we repeat, definitely does NOT belong in the category of Mac-head (yeh right!). She does get excited by her iPhone and her iMac and her iPod Nano and her Macbook and Bali's iPad and her future iHouse (patent pending). Ok, so maybe her head is a little bit forbidden fruit shaped. She likes shooting video (iPhone 4 camera zindabad!) and editing montages (Final Cut Pro zindabad!), whether the scene calls for it or no. In her spare time, she's either kicking it on stage with KB the keyboard or kicking butt at Taekwondo. see more
