Apple may have faced ire for inefficient cloud security, but the company definitely has taken the security at its upcoming event a top notch higher. So much so that it has had the effect of turning all company employees super-paranoid, states a report by Cult of Mac .
The whole place is quarantined and staffers are not allowed to wander around. Citing an anonymous staffer, the report says, “everyone thinks Apple is tapping our phones and monitoring what we say. Everyone is super-paranoid.”
Apple’s event will take place at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts, which is believed to come with an all-new, state-of-the-art security system that will lock down access in order to prevent leaks. The 2,400-seat auditorium was earlier used to unveil the original Macintosh and the first iMac. As expected, there is already 24 hours security inside the auditorium. From caterers to construction staff, anyone working there has to submit their phones so that no details are leaked outside.
In fact, it has gone a step ahead with a ‘special tamper-proof tape’ that covers the camera and changes its colour if anyone tries to remove it. So, in case the colour changes, the employee will be fired right there.
Employees will also have to erase anything embarassing or personal from their phones as the security will be running through the content to ensure that no information is leaked outside. "Apple security personnel are carefully scrutinizing the phones for unauthorized pictures or messages, looking for any attempts to communicate details of the event to the outside,” adds the report.
Knowing how secretive Apple can get, this doesn’t come as a surprise.
