Those who have been complaining about iPhone’s minimum 16GB storage, have a reason to cheer. A new leak suggests that Apple is likely to ditch the 16GB option in its upcoming iPhone 7 and opt for 32GB storage instead, as per IHS Technology analyst Kevin Wang on Chinese social media. It should be noted that the current iPhones are available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The analyst further claims that the iPhone 7 will feature 2GB of RAM, also found in the iPhone 6s. “It is unclear if the analyst is referring to the iPhone 7 as a category or the specific 4.7 inch model,” the 9To5Mac report adds. The larger 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus will feature 3GB of RAM reportedly to handle the processing need by the dual-camera components. There are already a string of leaks around the iPhone 7, but the highlight of so far, remains Apple’s decision to ditch the 16GB variant. However, there is no concrete evidence if Apple will opt for this move, and for now, let’s take this with a pinch of salt. A previous report had mentioned 16GB and 32GB options along with the first ever 256GB variant. This makes sense, considering Apple introduced 4K recording last year. This may also mean, Apple is likely planning variants starting at 32GB up to 256GB. Some of the previous rumours point at iPhone 7 Plus with a dual-lens camera setup similar to the LG G5 and Huawei P9. There are reports hinting at a laser auto-focus system in the regular 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and an iPhone 7 Pro that will have the same smart connectors like the new iPads, to accommodate a keyboard or maybe a brand new accessory.
