Apple's budget iPhone 5C fails to impress the Internet

Apple broke its own norm last night to announce a budget iPhone called the iPhone 5C at its launch event. While the announcement didn’t come as a complete shock to the Internet, thanks to the multitude of leaks that had been trickling out of websites, it didn’t stop the online world from expressing emotions ranging on both sides of the spectrum about the new phone.

The very first issue with the cheaper version of the iPhones launched today seemed to be its single hard coated polycarbonate body, or like the Twitterverse preferred to call it – plastic.

The plastic gave way to the shiny colours the iPhone 5C is supposed to be released in and opinion was divided on this too.

Talking about similarities between Nokia’s original, shiny Lumia series, the irony of the iPhone 5C coming in colourful plastic shells was not lost.

Nokia, that has just found its funny-bone again after selling most of it off to Microsoft took a chance to take a potshot at Apple too.

Coming back to the iPhone 5C after that little tussle, the price was another point where the budget Apple phone was not winning any popularity contests.
