Apples AirPower wireless charging mat may have finally entered production: Report

Apple AirPower wireless charger.

Apple announced in September 2017, that the company was introducing wireless charging capabilities with the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, and gave a preview for its own wireless charging mat that would not only charge the iPhone, but its Apple Watch and AirPods. Apple didn’t announce a price at the time but did say that would arrive sometime in 2018.

The Hong-Kong based publication also went on to state that Chinese manufacturer Luxshare Precision has started production of the AirPower. As per a report by MacRumors, Luxshare Precision happens to be a company that already manufactures Apple’s AirPods and some cords.

In a follow-up tweet, ChargerLAB cites another source who claims a second Apple supplier Pegatron is set to begin mass production of the AirPower on 21 January.

If things do turn out the way its claimed, the Apple AirPower mat could be out soon but given the charger’s history just yet.ry of delays and technical challenges, it’s probably best not to get one’s hopes too high.
