Apple WWDC 2014: What we can expect from the biggest Apple event of the year

Apple has already announced its schedule for Worldwide Developer Conference to held next week. It plans to start the conference with a keynote which will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Monday, 2 June at Moscone West, reports 9to5Mac. The event will likely be led by Apple CEO Tim Cook with assistance from senior VPs Craig Federighi and Eddy Cue, which has been the case in the past.   OS X 10.10 is slated to be announced at the event and one can expect it to come with comprehensive end-to-end redesigning just like the **iOS 7 released by Apple** last year.   As far as iOS 8 is concerned, one cexpect the long-time rumoured Healthbook, TextEdit and Preview apps and more. However, these proposed apps might not be implemented immediately. There are also rumours that iOS 8 might come sans the notification center, and with tweaked Messages and Game Center apps . The company is reportedly also planning to introduce better maps and new iPad features.   Recently alleged images of iOS 8 running on iPhone 5S surfaced online, but the site goes on to state, “Apple has begun work on iOS 8.1, and that some of the notable features in the works for the first release of iOS 8 could potentially shift back to iOS 8.1.”   We had previously reported our expectations which stated that Apple might also introduce its latest processor A8 along with iOS 8 in the next iPhone, which is rumoured to come with a bigger display. One of the major functions of A8 would be to handle battery efficiency and improve overall performance, on a much larger, and higher-resolution display than the current iPhone.   Apple is also believed to be working extensively on implementing changes to iCloud. These changes could be introduced later this year. Apple could bring song ID feature to iTunes in collaboration with Shazam , which will have some amount of cloud integration. This feature will enable users to use Siri for leveraging database of Shazam for finding information related to a song.   The OS X team is getting iOS UI resources which indicate the company’s intention to create a convergence of the two OS, in terms of UI elements such as icons and radio buttons. Also, according 9to5mac’s sources, Apple is planning to unveil new hardware at this year’s conference. New products from Apple TVs to iWatches to Retina MacBook Airs (the most likely) have been rumoured for introduction this year.   Apple is also expected to launch its new  **software platform**  geared towards **home automation** , with iPhones and iPads being used to control your lights, security systems, cooling and heating, and other appliances. It will include touchless controls, based on geo-fencing. Lights might come on when you enter the home and your phone notes your location, for example. The new Apple TV box is reportedly expected to launch later and serve as a hub to control other devices.   Take a look at the rumour-roundup of all **Apple products for 2014** .
