In a page put up to answer criticisms about Apple’s environmental friendliness and ecological awareness, Apple referred to the OS X as the MacOS. This was quickly corrected, but not before it was interpreted as another confirmation that Apple is going to re-brand its OS X as MacOS, fuelling more speculation on the possible name change. Ars Technica , Stuff , The Verge and  The Next Web  managed to get screenshots of the original page, before it was corrected. Just last month, Brazilian blog Mac Magazine posted an entry from an eagle eyed developer who spotted that one of the documents associated with a framework listed the name of the OS as “MacOS”. Apple Insider has a post detailing the history of Apple re-branding over the years. Apple is expected to unveil the next versions of iOS and OS X in the upcoming Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2016 event, scheduled to be held in June. Apple uses the annual event to showcase its new products, as well as interact with developers in workshops. The event typically kicks of with a Keynote. As of now there is no indication that there is going to be any new hardware launched, but that just means that Apple has the element of surprise.
