Apple Watch retail stock to be limited at the launch: Report

Apple will start taking pre-orders for its highly anticipated Watch from April 10, and will also allow customers to try the wearable for 15 minutes at its retail stores. Now citing a source from the flagship Apple store, a new report by 9To5Mac reveals that the inventory on the launch day will be  limited.  The Apple Watch is all set to hit retail stores starting April 24. The employees have been reportedly asked to treat the launch day as if there will be no walk-in stock. This means getting your hands on specific models of the Apple watch could get even harder than it has been for some favorite iPhone models in the past. The report further adds that the inventory will change depending upon the location of the store. China is expected to get larger share of the stock, while the report also hints at the possibility of major share for the US. Apart from these two countries, during the launch the Watch will also be available in Canada, France, Japan, Germany, and the UK. It should also be noted that Apple won’t allow walk-in users to directly buy the device once it starts selling on April 24. The priority will only be given to those who have placed a pre-order and come with an appointment, adds the report. Only after these customers have received their units, the other walk-in customers will get the chance to take home the Apple Watch. There are several reasons for the limited inventory on the launch day, one such is the various models of the $349 wearable built using different materials, vast band options and so on. There is no word on whether the Apple watch will be making its way to the Indian market.
