Apple Updates OS X to 10.4.8

Zdnet has reported that Apple has released a comprehensive series of updates for its OS X operating system, which bring a few fixes and tweaks for various applications like iPhoto, Finder, Safari, Dashboard and various other applications. In terms of critical fixes the Wi-Fi drivers have been updated, which is expected to solve the problem of signal drops and random disconnects, which was plaguing quite a few OS X users. Apple has also mentioned that several of the system updates is expected to increase performance in Rosetta.

A few system fixes also solve some compatibility issues for Microsoft Office for Mac. While Word was facing problems with documents containing opentype fonts PowerPoint had issues with resolution changes. Both these problems are now fixed. In terms of security vulnerabilities there are over 15 fixes. Some of the crucial fixes include fixes for Safari and Adobe System’s Flash Player. Jpeg2000 image security vulnerability has been fixed too. With this round of updates the OS X version now goes to 10.4.8.
