Apple Unveils New iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook

The wait for Mac fans is finally over. Apple has unveiled the new iMac in India, featuring Mac OS X running on the new Intel Core Duo Platform. The new iMac with an aluminum enclosure is just one inch thin and features a built-in iSight video camera for video conferencing. The machine ships with the new version of iLife ‘06, featuring major new versions of iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD and GarageBand alongside the Apple Remote and Front Row combo. It retails in at Rs 79,800. They also launched the new MacBook laptop, rumored to be the world’s fastest Core Duo laptop. It’s the first Mac notebook with PCI Express, a Serial ATA hard drive and the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 for superfast graphics performance. It will retail between Rs. 117,000 to Rs. 145,000, depending on specs. Also introduced was the new Mac mini. The new Mac mini is up to four times faster with the Intel Core Duo, and has far better expansion capability for peripherals in the same compact design, which shipped with the previous generation. It ships at a cost of Rs 35,500.
