While it is known that Apple is all set to unveil its new iPhones next week, it is already said to be working on a large screen phablet. According to the  WSJ , Apple has begun testing larger screens for its iPhone. It is considering screen sizes ranging from 4.8-inches to 6-inches. So, is Apple mulling over an iPhablet?

Apple hasn’t yet entered the phablet zone, its existing iPhone 5 comes with a 4-inch display. Will we see an Apple phablet, rather an iPhablet?

Reportedly, component suppliers reveal that Apple has already begun testing larger screens for iPhones in recent months. It is said to be particularly interested in recent tests for a 4.8-inch screen. However, sources further add that the screen sizes set to be launched next week won’t change. According to the report, people familiar with the company claim that Apple is more willing to move ahead now than it has been in the past years.

Apple is also rumoured to bring a budget iPhone for emerging markets. In fact, it is hosting a special iPhone event in China . It further adds fuel to the possibility of a budget device. If the news circulating the web is to be believed then it will be the first time that Apple releases two iPhone models simultaneously. Again, it could be an indication towards a shifting strategy. This raises questions like – Will Apple finally opt for multi-size, multi-device strategy like most of the phone makers?
